How was the last month for you? Here we decided to take a step back and consolidate. Why? We felt it important to make sure we do not lose our values or dilute our mission as we scale our impact business. So, we decided to dedicate two posts to highlighting our why - why we do what we do. Then, another post what is going on.

We wanted to make the point that you the GenZ are a unique generation - the first digital native generation is to say the least that makes you unique. More imporatntly, we wanted to highlight what this means for the wider social and economic landsacpe. Why dedicated solutions are needed? Then the next post focused on what’s going on in your world and what the new norm looks like for you. For example, how the tradaitonal job oppurtunies are no longer available to you in the age os AI. Another innovation we have been working on is intro a guest post once a month. These guest posts are blog post written by our eco system partners about the work they do. What they do and how their work is relevant to you. We are hoping they will inspire you to take ownership of your own lives and understand the new oppurtunies you have at your disposal.

The first guest post went out earlier this week. It highlighted the mental health needs of your generation and how to access the best support for your needs. Dr. Patapia Tzotzoli has been a keen supporter of our mission from the very begining. This is a short summary of her post - in case you missed it. 30 GenZ from War Studies Department at King’s College, London, were accepted on to our vocational training programme this month. Yup, that’s another 30. So far this year that bring the overall numbe to 62. Compared to last 2 years 100 for the full 12 months.

During their time with us they completed a professional journalism course like professional journalists normally would during their careers. Thanks to Thomson Foundation - they can access this training at no cost themselves. To complete their vocational training with us the Vibers then use the learnings to research and write about what happens when the war ends. How the communties are rebulding to themselves. What kind ofgrassroots iniavtivs are evolving to help people take owernship of their own lives.

This time thes Vibers also got to chance to write for Impact Entrepreneur Magazine as well. This allows them the oppurtunity to get their articles published in an industry magazine as well. Well, so did the last team I hear you say? Yup, but now we are out of the test phase of this relationship with Impact Entrepreneur Magazine. 14+ articles were submitted to the magazine. Can’t wait to share them with you once posted. They cover some really interesting topics on how jobs and wealth are being created in these communties.

How was your quarter? Ours was busy.

Here’s a quick round up. Let’s start with GenZ.

This quarter we worked with 32 Vibers. Yup — Vibers. We coined the term for the GenZ who build their vocational skills with us. Over 350 have now dedicated their time and energy to bringing positive change. We think they’ve earned it. Don’t you?

So, 32 Vibers in three months. 100 over the full last year. Interest is growing — and fast. Don’t forget to tell your friends.

What were they doing?

28 joined our Citizen Journalism programme. 19 from King’s College London. 9 from Oxford University. They started with professional journalism training. Then they used those skills to highlight the experiences of communities recovering from conflict. They also created interactive stories about refugees who changed the world through art.

Adeola led our first agentic AI project — making stories interactive. We have an MVP. Full details here.

Cal and Victoria built micro games to raise awareness of our content. Watch this space — they’re coming next quarter.

How is changing the world coming along? We picked up on the new ways of having fun you are coming up with like coffee raves. Your movement is based on promoting the new while being inclusive like coffee raves - pretty original in our books. Since you already represent over 30% of the global population we look forward to seeing you become a movement for positive change as you enter the mainstream. Our job is to make sure you are well informed and highly engaged along the way.

Here we just finished supporting 20 of your fellow GenZ gain vocational training skills as Citizen Journalists. They are students at the Department of War Studies, King;’s College, London. They completed a professional development level course in Journalism and then applied it to research, write an article and record a backstory podcast for you. We also insist they use visuals as part of the work with us. Not to mention share their experiences. Here is a team pic of some of the members.

Adeola & Cal - from DePaul University in Chicago, are working away building their vocational skills as well. Adeola is now starting work on developing the ai agent for you to test. We are hoping next month it will be ready for testing - fingers crossed. Cal has been joined by Victoria. If you remember she joined us a couple of years ago on the gaming stream. Now she is back working with Cal on the gaming stream again. We will be sharing more of their work with you as time goes on.

Some fun news about Taya as well. We were catching up with UK for UNHCR and they want to share Taya’s expereince with you. So keep an eye out for their post. Better still we will share it here when it goes live.

On more slightly subdued note Tech Tonic - an FT publication highlighted how some younger members of GenZ were consumed by Ai Chatbots like Character Ai that they ended up harming themselves. We want to assure you we take ethical use of Ai very seriously. One reason we co create our content with you and your peers is that we can identify these issues early on at the design stage. All our ai based character chatbots have limits so they do not harm you. If you do come across any issues please let us know asap.

Before we move some great news as well. We have been accepted onto the Impact Entrepreneurs Content Partnership Programme This means our Citizen Journalists will be able to share their work more widely and access the training from the Impact Entrepreneur’s Journalism Institute. More on this next month.

Great to see you settling into the new year. Given your passion for changing the world we thought it best to start with how we see you bringing change for the better. Your decentralised and anti hero approach looks likely to continue. In the same way bitcoin changed the world of finance - you will make the world an inclusive space for all of us.

Coming onto what we have been working on now. Over the coming months we will be providing vocational training to 45+ GenZ from the UK and US. They will complete professional development level courses in Journalism. They will then use the learning to research and write about communities recovering from conflict.

They will also be covering the concept of post memory - it covers how second and third generations of the victims are dealing with the issues of conflict. This week marks Holocaust memorial day - which is what led to the research into post memory. Just a reminder this day remembers all those who have lost their lives to genocide from Jews, Gypies, Poles, Serbs to people in Cambodia, Bosnia, Rwanda and more.

We are also working with two students - Adeola & Cal - from DePaul University in Chicago, US. They are focusing on using agentic Ai using human centered and martech. We will be sharing their work with us as time goes on. They are with us for 10 weeks.

These GenZ are working while still studying. They want to build real world work experience so they can pay their bills as soon as possible and take ownership of their own lives. If you remember Taya from Ukraine - yes, the one who also came up with our logo! She joined us before she moved to Ireland 4 years ago and is now at University in Dublin. Well … she just secured her year in industry with BMW Group. Congrats to her. 👏

So, keep an eye out for the good quality, well researched information presented in easy to understand ways like using podcasting, written articles, gaming and visuals. This helps you to relate to the deeper issues these communities impacted by conflict are dealing with.

Take it your looking forward to the coming festive break. It’s been a long few months hasn’t it. Here we were busy training another cohort of Citizen Journalists. We were impressed with the topics they chose. Can’t wait to share their work with you.

In fact, we did actually share one of the posts last week - what did you think about the “Heads Up: Lebanon’s Kids Are Still Fighting The Invisible War Started Back In the 1970’s” post? Just to give you some background Emanuelle is from Brazil. She is studying for Master’s at King’s. She is also a professional journalist back in Brazil. Going into December we are looking forward to training more students from Oxford University as well. Over the course of the year that will bring the number of GenZ we have supported to about 100. Thanks to your interest in what we do we plan to repeat this feat again next year.

Over here we have been working on some fun stuff as well. But, before we go there some really exciting news for you. Oxford University Career Services awarded us their highest award - Gold - for the vocational training internships we organise with them. This was the third year in a row we received this award. Turns out the students love working with us as well. The next round of interns will be joining us in December.

So, coming back to planet earth. Our next round of Citizen Journalist have started their training with us to provide you with more interesting podcasts and articles about how communities rebuilding themselves after the war is over are coping. We accepted 20 students from War Studies Department, King’s College, London. They kicked off the vocational training with us last Thursday. They cover topics and issues they learn during their courses to support you to understand what people go through when trying to rebuild their lives afterwards. Look forward to sharing their citizen journalism articles and podcasts with you.

Our volunteers Nicole and Kaiwan are doing well. They are learning how to create content using GenAi along with homing in their digital marketing skills. So, if you notice differences in our social posts - you know why!

Here we have a new volunteer -

Nicole. Yup, the same Nicole who trained with us to be a Citizen Journalist. She has now completed her Master’s at King’s. She is supporting us with our user feedback, so keep an eye out and say hi if you come across her.

Talking about King’s - more students will be joining us next month. They will be training to be Citizen Journalists and then apply their training to research and write about communities rebuilding themselves after the conflict is over. We ask them to focus on this topic because these communities and their human needs are forgotten in time.

Plus, the Department of War Studies is the largest Security Studies Department in the world with a global reputation. So, the topics they touch on are well informed (Not fake news/ disinformation) and the ones they cover during their courses.

Then in December we have more students from Oxford University joining us. They will focus on identifying refugees from an arty background who made our lives beautiful. In the past they dug up refugees like K’Naan, Freddy Mercury, Gloria Estafan and more.

But even more, they will create micro games for you. So, you can play and learn about the experiences of the arty refugees. This is a unique innovation within journalism we are working on. So, play the games, share your feedback so we can improve them and, of course, share them with your friends.

How is the summer treating you? Hope you managed a nice break and now preparing to get back to life. Here we have some exciting news. We just did our annual bench marking of our social engagements.

Guess what? Thanks to you all our measures are above industry norms. This means you are the right people for our brand. You love the work we do with your peers. So, now lets build on it for the coming year. It would be great to have your friends join us. Share their thoughts, and make suggestions. Nimrit helped us organise our Refugee Inspired Digital Art Residency for GenZs. She identified 5 artists in the US from a refugee background. They are -

5. Mohamad Hafez,

They are all refugees who settled in the US and used art to share their stories and influence society locally. We use their work as inspiration. Here are a couple of examples. They will be available as NFT’s as well later in the year, so keep an eye out. Don’t forget these NFT’s are collectibles which also unlock exclusive merc.

Just a heads up - KaiWen has joined us for the coming quarter. He is based at Arizona State University and will be with us for the coming semester. He will be working with us on our user journey, UX design and Ai based gaming. 👏

How has the sunshine been treating you? Here our summer helpers are fully on board and ready to go. What are they going to be up to I hear you ask? Well… where do we start? Emm, how about the people first.

Nimrit - yes, the same arty person from last summer. I bet you remember her artwork. She created most of the images we have been sharing for the past year.. This summer she is our first GenZ digital artist in residence. This means she will be identifying 3 artists from a refugee background in California. Then she will be using their art as inspiration for the digital artwork she will create with us. Guess what? You will also be able to buy some this refugee inspired art as NFT’s in the autumn. Don’t forget you can wear this artwork as well - yup, there will be merc as well. As usual a share of the profits will support the communities we work with to recover from conflict.

Gaurab - He is with us for 8 weeks supporting us with our user feedback and digital content creation. He is engaging you offline with us and asking 3 simple questions. He is based in California as well and spending his summer building his vocational skills with us. Keep an eye out in your local park for him. Look forward seeing what you think of us.

Aniruddha - yup, she still with us a year on. She is working her way through her Master’s in Strategic Marketing. Keep an eye out for her copy, captions and hastags. She is also working on some fun ideas to engage more of you. Keep an eye out.

Victoria - she is helping us train citizen journalists on the Game Dev. A former teacher in Design and Technology, she is a very handy person to have on your team.

Isabel and Juilette are our micro interns from Oxford this summer. They are training to be Citizen Journalists and are using gaming as medium for journalism. Watch this space for their work.

Volunteering Corner

Volunteering Week is just a round the corner. This is when we highlight all the good work our volunteers have done with us to create all the social impact we create across the world.

Last year we worked 100 volunteers and so far this year we have worked with 70 volunteers. In total we have worked with 335+ volunteers. We organise training for them so they can learn a new skill and then learn to apply it during their time supporting you and the communities we work with across the world. So, join in saying thank you to each and everyone of them.

Finally, as we move into June we are preparing for Refugee Week. Once a year for one week across the UK there is a festival of local events celebrating the contributions, creativity, and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. Thomson Foundation is an international media development organisation dedicated to strengthening independent journalism and supporting journalists and communicators often working in challenging environments. With more than 60 years of experience, Thomson works globally to promote ethical practices and ensure the sustainability of reliable information sources worldwide.

As part of our Citizen Journalist programme, participants have developed their skills using Journalism Now – Thomson’s online learning platform. It offers a broad selection of self-paced courses with no charge. A global network of seasoned journalists created these applied courses. From storytelling and mobile journalism to investigative techniques, the courses support both aspiring and experienced journalists in building their craft. Citizen Journalist Corner

We just finished training another 10 Citizen Journalists from War Studies Department at King’s College, London. They were with us for 3 weeks. During this time they each completed two courses from Journalism Now. They each researched and wrote an article about post conflict communities they felt passionate about. They ranged from Post Apartheid South Africa to Yemen. They self edited these articles using Ai. They created an inforgrahic each for their articles using Canva. A back story podcast. They also organised their own farewell post covering their experiences with us along with a TikTok style video as well. All of this work was delivered within 16 hours. Great work don’t you think.

You thought we wanted to brag last month. Wait till you see what we have been up with this month! Winter is coming to an end - finally. So, is the time for many of our volunteers. We would like to thank Amira for helping us organise ourselves - she is a great admin person. We didn’t realise how much paperwork we needed to organise till she came along. Hopefully she will pop back for another round - fingers crossed!

Matilda has also completed her time with us. She built on Cassia’s work of consolidating the post conflict community articles into an e Pub - which will be available your Kindle. Here you will find a collection of around 13 articles consolidated into one publication. Tilda worked closely with Aniruddha on this.

Constatin was supporting us with our technical side - game dev., A4R Coin and more. His time with us has come to an end as well. Hopefully, he can come back when ready again.

It’s not all sad news - we also have a new arrival. Abi from King’s College, London. She joined us as a Citizen Journalist (more on them later) and then decided to stay on. She is interested in building her vocational skills while she is still studying. She will be supporting us on our social media and user experience side.

Our sharing economy model allows GenZ and professionals to share their spare time with us and upskill themselves. This approach helps society, industry and of course our volunteers.

We just finished working 14 GenZ from Oxford University. They all developed micro games using Ai. Keep an eye for their work with us.

Opps, forget to mention another 14 will be finishing their one week micro internship at the end of this week as well. So, lots more games for you play with - can’t wait to see you share them with your friends and family.

Victoria - a former design and technology teacher - has been working closely with these GenZs on the gaming side. She designed a user manual for them to create their micro games. It is also being user tested at the moment. We have been thinking about making it available to the wider public as well, so anyone can develop a game for themselves using Ai - what do you think? Let’s us know.

Citizen Journalist Corner

This winter we have worked 42 Citizen Journalists in total. They completed 2 micro courses each from Journalism Now, part of the Thomson Foundation. These are Continuous Professional Development courses mainstream journalists cover as part of their career development. In fact, all the GenZs completed 2 courses each. They then applied these courses during their time with us. They used different mediums like gaming, podcasts, infograhpics and of course the written word.

We have another 15 Citizen Journalists joining us next week from War Studies Department at King’s College, London. They will be with for 3 weeks during April.

Not to brag (okay, maybe a little), but we just added some serious hardware to our metaphorical trophy shelf. 2025 Winner of the Innovation and Excellency Award is officially ours, recognizing our work as a leader in refugee support. The actual title is Refugee Support Company of the Year! 2025 Winner.

This award celebrates forward-thinking initiatives that drive real impact, and we’re honored to be recognized for the ways we’re using technology and storytelling to amplify refugee concerns, create economic opportunities, and push boundaries in the humanitarian space. It’s a win for us, but more importantly, it’s a win for the communities we serve.

Meanwhile, in the digital world, our crypto integration is moving forward. We’re deep in with Third Web and currently weaving our own A4R Coin—one step closer to launching on Rarible. Soon, NFTs will be tradable, and a new chapter in refugee support by Gen Zs will open.

We’re also excited to announce that we’re working on an online quarterly magazine, curated for easy access to our best articles all in one place. Next month we will be rolling out our support helping non techys develop micro games with us. We have 28 students from Oxford University lined up to try this out. This will be part of their training as Citizen Journalists. We can’t wait to share what they cook up!

Citizen Journalist Corner

Did you notice how our student journalists are now citizen journalists? We felt these passionate and dedicated GenZs deserved a more rewarding title. They have been taking time out of their studies, and sometimes free time, to join us. They are an important link between reliable sources of information and their GenZ peer group.

This month, 15 such dedicated Citizen Journalists joined us, completing two introductory journalism courses. Each of them recorded a podcast and wrote an article exploring how communities rebuild after war. Their stories span from Northern Ireland, reflecting on its progress 20 years after peace, to Libya and Syria, shedding light on the challenges these regions continue to face on the ground

Finally, as we move into March, we’re marking Red Cross Month—a time to recognize humanitarian efforts worldwide. As a platform dedicated to amplifying these issues, we’re spotlighting communities rebuilding themselves once the conflict is over. The very ones the world has forgotten along with the human issues they are dealing with on a daily basis.

As we step into 2025, we’re thrilled to bring you along on the next phase of our journey. Behind us is 2024, a year of incredible transformation and new horizons — including everything from AI-based micro games to podcasts and NFTs. Each project has brought us closer to our mission of empowering voices and fostering creativity.

Our ongoing mission is to share stories of communities rebuilding in the aftermath of conflict. These communities are from different parts of world, some you know about and many you don’t. These stories cover their human needs and how well they are being met.

Besides this we are also co creating innovative audience experiences with you — our users. We are building on what others, like ProPublica's 'The Waiting Game’, are doing — using gaming as a medium for journalism. By embracing innovative methods we’re creating immersive experiences that truly resonate.

We will be spending time with the Third Web – Ai x Web3 startup cohort next month — integrating all this innovation into one space. We want you to access everything without needing to worry about anything. We look forward to sharing what we develop with their support in the coming months.

As 2024 draws to a close, we take this moment to reflect on our journey with you through a transformative year for us. Here it’s been a year of significant growth and meaningful impact. Starting with Ai based micro games to podcasts and now NFT’s.

Our greatest accomplishment this year reflects our core mission – which is to share as many stories of refugees as possible. These refugees rebuilt their lives among us and made our lives beautiful in the process.

We have also taken immense pride in nurturing the growth of the talented GenZ writers, coders, and marketing interns who with us have grown into more confident agents of change. 100 again this year.

Yet, we faced some challenges as well. Particularly in combating misinformation and ensuring that authentic refugee narratives reach a broader audience. Despite these obstacles, our commitment to providing reliable information and supporting undiscovered talent remains unwavering. You can play games, listen to podcasts, gift NFT’s and more.

Looking ahead to 2025, we aim to expand our Web 3 marketplace to foster an even larger community dedicated to positive change. We plan to enhance & engage more GenZs with our Web 3 presence.
