The backstory is just as cool as the gameplay: Cal, a student from DePaul University, spent 8 weeks working with the A4R Media Hub. Instead of spending months grinding away at complex syntax, we trained him to use vibe coding—using natural language to prompt AI into building a fully functional game.

The result? A simulator that drops you straight into the hot seat as a Headline Hero for the A4R Media Hub. Your mission is to review real profiles of refugee entrepreneurs and pick the headline that maximizes your “Change Meter” to foster positive social impact.

Turns out, editing is an absolute psychological tightrope.

Take Amina’s story: she fled her home and built a thriving bakery that employs five other refugee women. If you choose a safe, neutral headline, the game flags a “Dry Choice”—you were factual, but you buried the inspiration, rendering her journey invisible to the algorithm. But try to juice the numbers with a sensationalized title for Elena—a master potter running youth therapy programs—and you get a “Clickbait Choice” penalty. The game calls you out for treating human suffering as a cheap engagement metric.

Cal’s game forces us to confront a brutal reality: ethical journalism isn’t a static set of rules. It’s a live trade-off between visibility and integrity.
